Springfield, MO, October 27, 2006 - Carlisle is proud
to be a sponsor of the Pink Ribbon Riders, a group of
snowmobile enthusiasts creating awareness of breast
cancer in both men and women through their passion of
snowmobiling while helping those in need. The Breast
Cancer disease not only affects those diagnosed, but
also those who love them. Everyone knows a story,
everyone knows someone - now is our chance to team
together to make a difference.
Pink Ribbon Riders work on a local level to provide
financial assistance directly to victims in need. With
your help we will make the fight just a little bit
easier. If we can take away one worry in one victims
struggle, we have succeeded.
Snowmobile friends
Alia Brown (New York native) and Jody McKay
(former Big East Snocross Tour Marketing
Director) organized the 1st Tug Hill Snow Run in
March of 2005. The ride was started in memory of
friend Kelly Shires, who passed away very early
in life from Breast Cancer. The girls promised
Kelly to establish a ride like hers in the US.
(Kelly started the Breast Cancer Snow Run in
Canada 7 years ago) Kelly's battle ended in
October of 2004 on Halloween while both Alia and
Jody were in Toronto where they were all to meet
to discuss plans for the US ride.
McKay says, "We will ride every year to honor
those fighting battles everyday, and to those
that we will never forget, the true survivors.
We all share struggles with breast cancer in our
own families and these events help us share with
others, a way to help those in need. |
