Dayton,
OH - September 15, 2002 - Carlisle Companies Incorporated is pleased to announce the purchase of the Industrial Power Transmission assets from Dayco Products, LLC. The business will operate as an independent division of Carlisle. Rick McKinnish, Carlisle's President and CEO, has named Mike Gearhardt as President and CEO of the new division, Carlisle Power Transmission Products, Inc. Mike most recently served in the capacity of Executive Vice President of the Dayco Industrial Division. In addition to the high performance OEM and aftermarket snowmobile and ATV drive belts that the Dayco Industrial Division manufactures for the powersports industry, Dayco also manufactures a full line of drive belts for the industrial power transmission industry.
Larry Klein, marketing manager for Snowmobile drive belts reported "This is an exciting, and positive new chapter for our company. Carlisle's acquisition philosophy focuses on profitable companies, and invests in them for the long-term. Our customers can continue to expect the new and innovative products that the Industrial Division of Dayco is known for in the powersports industry". Carlisle will retain the trademark names of Max and Ultimax aftermarket snowmobile drive belts so consumers will continue to purchase familiar names that have excellent brand recognition in the industry. In the coming months, there will be an eventual transition of the company name from Dayco to Carlisle.
